ROUNDTABLE CONNECTING AMBASSADORS, HEADS OF VIETNAMESE REPRESENTATIVE OFFICES ABROAD WITH SOUTHERN ASSOCIATION LEADERS AND ENTERPRISES

 

 

On November 14, 2024, a roundtable discussion connecting ambassadors, heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad, and leaders of southern associations and businesses was held under the chairmanship of:

  • The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
  • Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association - Mr. Nguyễn Đình Tùng;
  • Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Producers and Exporters;
  • Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association;
  • Chairman of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear, and Handbag Association.

The event attracted participation from over 10 Vietnamese ambassadors and Vietnam Consul General, representing key markets such as Thailand, China, Cambodia, New Zealand, Belarus, Germany, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and others. The roundtable aimed to encourage Vietnamese representative offices to serve as bridges, supporting businesses in expanding international markets, attracting investments, promoting the business environment, and highlighting the strengths of Vietnamese products.

  • Business Connectivity:
    Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Offices pledged to help domestic businesses connect with international partners, provide economic and social forecasts, and address international economic disputes
    promptly.
  • Market Consultation and Support:
    Heads
    of Representative Offices shared information on business practices and cultural norms in foreign markets, offered support in promoting Vietnam's key and potential products, and contributed to market expansion strategies for Vietnamese enterprises.

Forecast for 2025:
Discussions highlighted the anticipated global and regional dynamics in 2025, which
are, while challenging, believed to present new opportunities for businesses with appropriate strategies.

Recommendations from Discussions:

Specific proposals were made to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide visa assistance for International Delegations attending FWC 2025. Additionally, to promote the event through diplomatic programs and trade promotion initiatives to maximize its visibility and impact.

Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the roundtable not only analyzed the competitive potential of Vietnam's key industries and products but also focused on building strategies to increase value and expand markets in the upcoming period.

In a heartfelt speech, Mr. Tùng expressed a strong desire to elevate the image of Vietnamese agricultural products on the global stage. He emphasized the exceptional quality and unique flavors of Vietnam's agricultural products as a significant competitive advantage, aiming to enhance global trade cooperation and promote Vietnam's agricultural exports worldwide.
