From December 22 to 23, 2024, the Enterprise Development Agency (under the Ministry of Planning and Investment) and the U.S. Agency International Development (USAID) organized a specialized workshop on exporting Lâm Đồng agriculture products to the U.S. and Halal markets. The event aimed to support small and growing business in Lâm Đồng in accessing and expanding their reach in these markets.
With over 60 representatives from 50 businesses participating, including Mr. Nguyễn Phong Phú, Technical Director of Vina T&T Group, the workshop provided valuable insights to help expand the export market for Vietnamese agricultural products. Businesses were equipped with detailed knowledge about certification requirements needed for exports to the U.S. and Islamic countries.
Particularly, standards like the FDA’s FSMA for food safety, product labeling regulations, facility registration, and specific HALAL requirements were clearly explained. Experts also presented updated reports on high-value Vietnamese agricultural products favored in these markets, such as coffee, fresh fruits, and processed agricultural products.
