On January 5, 2024, the People's Committee of Chợ Mới District, in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang Province and Vina T&T Group, organized a ceremony to announce the first export of Green Mango from Chợ Mới District (An Giang Province) to Australia and the U.S.
Attendees included Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) - Huỳnh Kim Định; Director of the Post-import Plant Inspection Center 2 – Plant Protection Department - Phan Thị Thu Hiền; Representative of the Saemaul Foundation of Vietnam Kwak Busung; and Deputy General Director of Vina T&T Group - Nguyễn Đình Mười.
During the ceremony, the delegates participated in the formal procession of sending off the shipment of 7 tons of mangoes to Australia and the U.S. Of the shipment, 6 tons were Green Mangoes with a designated growing area code for export to Australia, and 1 ton was designated for the U.S. market.
This event marks a significant milestone in the export of agricultural products from An Giang Province, promoting the production and consumption of Green Mango between the People's Committee of Chợ Mới District and Vina T&T Group, especially for export to high-competitive markets. It also fosters trust between cooperatives, farmers, and business partners.
